Hello, I am Jan. I am an engineer and working in Germany. I speak at work and at home almost only German. Sometimes I speak with colleagues and friends in China Mandarin or English. In my free time, I like learning foreign languages for my work and for vacation as well. Jogging, walking and football belongs to my hobbies too. I am a patient and helpful person. I know how difficult it is to learn foreign languages and specially at the beginning. I would like to help people who are learning Mandarin or German and give them my tips to enhance their skills in Mandarin and German efficiently. When I was a student, I already started teaching Mandarin in different ways. During this time I realize, it makes me happy to get to know people from different countries, and with my help and tips they can improve their skills in Mandarin and German. As I'm also a passionate foreign language learner. I can easily comprehend your obstacles by learning in Mandarin and German. As a person who grew up, lives and works in Chinese and German cultures I have intercultural understanding. I can not only help you with your language skills but also support you by understanding of behavior, courtesy and tradition etc.My lessons & teaching style
I can put the lessons together for you based on your level and interest. We can expand your vocabulary through casual conversations on various topics that interest you, or we can improve your pronunciation by reading articles or learn grammar through textbooks. Language is the tool to communicate. We also learn our mother tongue by listening and repeating. This is why I find learning by doing is the best way to learn language. In German, it means Probieren geht über Studieren. In Chinese means 学以致用. Behind language is culture. As a person who has intercultural ability I will explain to you the Chinese and German culture according to my experience and knowledge.My teaching material

Meine Frau lernt sehr gerne mit Jan. Er bereitet die Lektionen sehr gut vor, Er kann den Lehrstoff sehr gut erklären und es macht sehr viel spass mit Ihm.

I have been working with Jan twice a week now for about three months in order to brush up my (very basic) Chinese skills. Jan is very approachable, easy to talk to and extremely patient. Also the communication with him is easy and he was flexible when I needed to reschedule. I can highly recommend Jan as a Chinese tutor for beginners as well as advanced students.
