I spent my childhood waiting for the bell.
The bell that rang to get up and run outside.
And rather than sit and study, I'd go out and measure myself against the elements, pushing my body in all kinds of acrobatic activities. So, as an autodidact, I engaged in a career as a freestyle ski athlete. Finally, a few injuries redirected me towards a bachelor's degree in sports science. Once finished, I felt I had to leave for new horizon. I spent a year travelling by bike and kayak until Georgia where I discovered theater and dance. Two years later, I returned to Switzerland to attend a theater and creation school. Today, I live in Georgia, giving dance-theater classes and performing on stage.
Me as a Teacher
Pedagogy is developing a subtle sense of someone’s situation and proposing an adapted path of progression, coherent and alive.
I develop my pedagogic skills coaching gymnastic, ski freestyle, dance, theater and French. Crossing all those fields, I could discover similar structures and patterns of learning process and started also to transfer methods from one field to another. During my bachelor studies in sport, I realized how deep emotions and body are involved in learning process. This even became the topic of my bachelor thesis: “Importance of self-presence in learning a foreign language”.
It's always a joy to create personalized conditions to allow students to perform their best.
My lessons & teaching style
Teaching is having a vision on the overall structure while creating an immersive and personalized context.
Being on Italki since June 2020 and continually drawing inspiration from other activities, I have developed a three-step method that suits most types of learners.
First, the student can put in practice, through free expression, what he or she already knows. Based on this, we will work on understanding, improving the existing material with better structure and new words. Finally, on this prepared base we will play different games to deepen the connection with the language and to develop further variations.
Basically, it's a fluid progression that follows the organic laws of growth.

I'm very happy to have met Jonathan. He established a connection between us very well and laid out a clear strategy for not just my french learning journey, or just my study of other languages, but my self-development as a person as well! Highly recommend!
