Hello. My name is Jason. I've taught English on italki for three years. I am TEFL-certified, and as I have a BA in journalism, I've been published in newspapers and magazines, both print and online. I also perform standup comedy, so my passions all center around the English language. I live in the US city of Seattle, Washington. I am a native speaker of American English. I enjoy learning French (here on italki), getting out into nature, reading, world cinema and writing.Me as a Teacher

-Comprehensible input-style vocabulary acquisition through images and video
-Improve pronunciation, increase vocabulary and augment general familiarity with the language doing out-loud readings in classMy lessons & teaching style
As a language learner myself, I find the best way to learn is to talk about things that interest me. If you aren't sure what you want to discuss, I will ask you questions to get the conversation going.
I offer help when I see you struggle, but do my best to also be encouraging; language learning is hard work! I can select American music, videos, articles, etc. to help you learn and stay engaged.My teaching material

I have had 50 lessons with Jason. I have found him an interesting person to have a conversation with. He is very patient and despite our very different backgrounds we can discuss all kinds of topics, even controversial ones. 50 lessons later I definitely feel myself a much more confident speaker of English and I look forward to having more lessons with Jason.
