¡Hola! ¿Cómo estás? My name is Ale, I'm mexican and I would love to be your Spanish teacher!
I live in a small city from Mexico called Guanajuato. I'm very passionate about linguistics, music, movies, sports, literature, history and politics. I also love to learn about other languages and cultures! I'm a very curious person, so I'm always open to learn and talk about anything.
I received a bachelor's degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language after graduating from the University of Guanajuato.
Me as a Teacher
I always try to create an environment where you can feel safe enough to make mistakes and learn from them because mistakes are just another step to any language acquisition. I also like to apply different teaching methods to find one you feel more comfortable with. I would love teaching you about my culture, Mexican culture, and to hear you talking about yours!
I have an B2 English level, so we can communicate in this language to solve any difficulty that may emerge in class.
My lessons & teaching style
Why do you want to learn Spanish?
This question is very important to me because based on your answer I will adapt the class to what you'd like to learn.
I like to include different types of activities so we can practice the four language skills (writing, reading, speaking and hearing). I strongly recommend to learn basic grammar first if you're a beginner, then we can put this grammar into practice right away in conversational classes about current topics so your communication in Spanish can be more natural and fluid.
If you'd like, I could also give you assignments to keep improving your Spanish in your free time.

Ale and I have great conversations discussing a myriad of topics. She has helped me to understand the Mexican culture and its nuances. She has taught me local idioms to help me blend in on trips that I take to Mexico.
Ale is very patient and insightful, helping me navigate through grammatical minefields and to understand why Spanish is phrased the way it is in many circumstances.
She provides great learning tools and various activities. I highly recommend Ale as a great teacher to beginners as well as to advanced students.
Ale is incredibly patient and continues to smile as she helps me struggle through the language. The sessions are fun and lively, and she combines a conversational meeting with the necessary grammar when needed. She's great.

I have worked with Ale for several months toward my main goal of greater confidence in Spanish conversation. I studied on my own before joining Italki, so I had some basic Spanish, but Ale has demonstrated the huge difference it makes to actually practice with a native speaker. Ale is an engaging, creative and inquisitive conversationalist. We have spoken about all kinds of topics. I have learned about aspects of Mexican culture, learned how to discuss some of my personal interests in Spanish, and even explored some perceptions of my own country through our conversations. Yes, we have covered some of the usual travel topics, but Ale continues to challenge me to go beyond the routine subjects. Along the way my vocabulary has improved, and I can understand more, better and faster. Her English is solid and I have had no problem communicating with her at any point. I am sure she would be a big help to new Spanish speakers at all levels. I highly recommend Ale!
