Hello, I am from Las Vegas, Nevada USA. I graduated from Virginia Tech University. I am a Retired U.S. Army Soldier with 20 years of Military Service. I worked as a Construction Safety Manager for First Solar Inc. and Currently I do Maritime Security (Anti-Piracy, Anti-Drugs & Stowaways) on Container Ships for MSC. I was also an English Advisor/Mentor for Foreign Military units for over 10 years and I can honestly say these have been the best jobs I have ever had! I traveled the world and visited a lot of countries throughout my life. I have had so many great successful students reach both their personal and professional goals through English learning. I hope to see you in my class.
Me as a Teacher
I believe that meeting the needs of my students is a very crucial part of effective learning. In our lessons, we will focus largely on conversation while improving your vocabulary, pronunciation and confidence. My goal is to provide you with that language environment and help your journey be a successful one. I believe that the best way to learn a new language is to practice your new language in an environment where you can speak and make mistakes freely while learning. our number one objective is to get you to express yourself freely.
My lessons & teaching style
I focus on the 3 fundamentals of English learning (Speaking, Listening and Reading). I use ESL and IELTS for topic discussions to help in speaking. We will Read various Passage and Articles to conduct a question-and-answer session to help put your new skills into action. I use various materials to help achieve your goals.

Emmerson is an amazing teacher who explains everything so clearly in English.I really enjoyed learning with him. He explains everything so clearly in English, and his classes are always fun and engaging. It’s also really enjoyable to talk with him—he’s approachable and makes you feel comfortable asking questions. Highly recommend!

The teacher intentionally slows down the pace of speech and does not read continuously。

Yesterday was my first lesson with my new teacher, Emerson. He was great. He gave me recommendations, listened carefully, and asked questions. It’s great to have the opportunity to speak with a native speaker. Thank you, Emerson!

I really loved this first lesson. Emerson made a lot of questions to test my english comprehension, in a very soft and fun way. At the end he gave me a very good feedback on my english skills and also gave me a lot of recommendations on how to improve. I'm looking forward to the next lesson!
