I am a qualified and highly experienced teacher of English as a second or foreign language. I have been teaching for 25 years. I have a Master of Applied Linguistics majoring in Teaching English as a Second or Other Language (TESOL), a Bachelor of Arts majoring in linguistics and Italian, and a CELTA from Cam-bridge Assessment. I have a solid understanding of the Common European framework of Reference, also known as CEFR, which measures speakers' proficiency on a scale from A1 to C2. My knowledge comes from both my studies in the field of language teaching and assessment and my multiple years of experience teaching and assessing.Me as a Teacher
I teach general and academic English at all levels and ages. I am also specialised in exam preparation. I prepare candidates for IELTS; and Cambridge CPE (Proficiency), CAE (Advanced), FCE (First), PET (Preliminary) & KET (Key); and Pearson PTE Academic. I teach pronunciation, communication skills, grammar, informal and formal writing skills, including academic writing, and much more...My lessons & teaching style
Each lesson is student centred, so the student actively participates. I find it most effective to practice a structure as much as possible until the student internalises it successfully.
I listen to each individual's needs and address these needs through careful and thoughtful lesson planning.
I use a range of materials from course books to realia. I give in-depth explanations if the student finds it interesting. This always leads to a better understanding of English and better use!My teaching material
