TEFL-Certified, UCLA-Educated Teacher With 2 Decades Of Experience I have been teaching for over 20 years, but did not receive my TEFL certification until 2016. I began out teaching in person, but started teaching online in 2016 when I first joined italki. I left italki for a while because I was living abroad and did not have a stable internet connection, but I continued teaching English in person. As a teacher, I understand the challenges you face because I am learning another language, too. I can relate to your concerns and fears about speaking another language. I think it's important to talk about the things that interest YOU. This is why I offer a variety of classes, including a literature class and a "virtual coffeehouse" practice session.

My goal is to motivate and inspire my students to succeed by guiding them in the right direction. I do this by creating a positive environment in the classroom and developing strong relationships with students so they are comfortable to ask me anything they do not understand or they can suggest things that will improve my work or their learning journey. I encourage my students to take risks and be creative in their projects so that they can unleash their potential.
