Insegnante di italiano con oltre 6 anni di insegnamento Ho studiato per 5 anni latino e greco al liceo, dove la grammatica era al centro dell'attenzione, con l'esperienza ho però capito che per iniziare ad apprendere una nuova lingua (cosa che ho sperimentato con l'inglese e lo spagnolo) è importante avere un ruolo attivo nell'apprendimento. In fondo, Leggere libri e siti in italiano non è poi così complicato, Scrivere email e documenti di lavoro già presuppone una maggiore conoscenza della lingua, ma Parlare italiano… beh, è tutta un’altra storia e richiede un approccio ad hoc. Il Listening (l’ascolto della lingua) non basta: se vuoi davvero imparare a parlare in italiano devi fare pratica.

初心者はちょーウェルカム！！ I use my own materials for the grammar lesson, it's colorful and fun, and it has grammar explanation in japanese or english. Even if you're somebody who doesn't like grammar, trust me, it will be a piece of cake! We will go through all the basics and make a lot of practice (my materials have plenty of exercises we can do together in class and I will also give you homework). My lessons will focus on the four major language skills: listening, talking, vocabulary and grammar, all incorporated since the very beginning (yes, also A1 level students!!).

I often suggest reviewing some grammar together, but I mainly focus on putting the language into practice because I believe that active listening and practice, even with mistakes, are extremely effective in language learning. I try to be as flexible as possible and adapt to my students' needs. I really believe that motivation is key to learning a language (or anything at all probably). That is why I try to focus on what really interests my students and 'build' on that, whatever it may be – a topic, an objective in the language, a desire to visit a place. That way learning will not feel as something one 'has to' do with all its difficulties but as something one can hopefully enjoy while in the process, while learning things that are relevant to them. So yes, as a joke I that I believe that as in any kind of relationship listening to others and asking them what they wish for is a very good skill in teaching too!

On Italki, I’ve met students aged 9 to 94 — each one left a precious mark on my heart. I’m very adaptable and flexible, and I easily adjust to each student’s needs, having already had the chance to teach people of different age groups.
