I believe that long-term commitment is a very effective way to learn (especially for languages), but I don't mind shorter learning paths for those who are not sure or those who already have some prior knowledge. On my side, I am available in finding a solution that works for both the student and me and I understand the importance of student's needs; however, I do think that the essential ingredient for success is student's commitment. During my experience teaching on Italki, I have learned how to assist my students best by getting to know their needs and helping them reach their goals. I am very supportive as a teacher, and I try my best to keep the lesson going smoothly and in a pleasant atmosphere. I am also open to helping my students outside the class. Many of my students send me texts to correct during the week to improve their writing skills, and I am happy to help them.

I think Italki is a perfect occasion to improve foreign languages because it offers what usually is very rare in traditional classes: a single person dedicated to you and the possibility to speak, freely and with no hurry. Conversation is the most important factor to improve a language. Moreover, I think I can make my students feel comfortable, at ease and relaxed during my classes. The topic will change every time: culture, food, literature, recipes, movies, travels... 🤹🏻 The students will describe pictures, do dictation activities and funny exercises, but mostly talk about their routine, their travels, and more.
