Master in applied linguistics - professor with 5 years experience and over 3000 lessons I started to do private lessons years ago, and I discovered I love it! Then I started to teach online in 2017. I had students from all over the world, and I have experience in teaching Italian, Spanish, English and Serbian to students of all ages and levels. I always try to make student feel comfortable, so I always listen their requirements and preferences. I have so much material that we can use for learning, so it's always student's choice. With some students I worked for several years and saw their progress from comletely beginner to being able to speak only in the target language.

I try to be as flexible as possible and adapt to my students' needs. I really believe that motivation is key to learning a language (or anything at all probably). That is why I try to focus on what really interests my students and 'build' on that, whatever it may be – a topic, an objective in the language, a desire to visit a place. That way learning will not feel as something one 'has to' do with all its difficulties but as something one can hopefully enjoy while in the process, while learning things that are relevant to them. So yes, as a joke I that I believe that as in any kind of relationship listening to others and asking them what they wish for is a very good skill in teaching too!

That's why I organise each lesson as guided dialogue. This allows us to train at once each aspect of the language: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening. Moreover, it boosts speed of learning and improves mnemonic processes.

I often suggest reviewing some grammar together, but I mainly focus on putting the language into practice because I believe that active listening and practice, even with mistakes, are extremely effective in language learning. In fact, I consider mistakes to be essential for progress!

I do have a lot of material prepared and I make it available to my students via email, Skype and WhatsApp. I am very organized, but the three decades of teaching experience allows me to 'go with the flow' if needs be.
