On Italki, I’ve met students aged 9 to 94 — each one left a precious mark on my heart. I’m very adaptable and flexible, and I easily adjust to each student’s needs, having already had the chance to teach people of different age groups. My short-term goal is to share my love for the Italian language and culture and help students achieve results starting from the very first lesson. What my passion for foreign languages has taught me is the importance of making mistakes, learning through conversation and real-life situations (which are often very different from what’s written in textbooks). Since I am a person who learns many languages, I know that there are many ways to do it, depending on what goal you want to achieve, I like to focus on precise objectives. I try to be as flexible as possible and adapt to my students' needs. I really believe that motivation is key to learning a language (or anything at all probably). That is why I try to focus on what really interests my students and 'build' on that, whatever it may be – a topic, an objective in the language, a desire to visit a place. That way learning will not feel as something one 'has to' do with all its difficulties but as something one can hopefully enjoy while in the process, while learning things that are relevant to them. So yes, as a joke I that I believe that as in any kind of relationship listening to others and asking them what they wish for is a very good skill in teaching too!
