Qualified Japanese teacher living in France🇫🇷 Hello, I'm Sayoko. I'm a qualified Japanese teacher. I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan but live in France now. I speak standard Japanese. My hobbies are travelling, watching movies, learning languages & reading books. Since 2018, I've taught Japanese to beginner students on a 1-1 basis. In 2022, I passed the Japanese language Teaching Competency Test. I've studied English at university and now I'm studying French so I understand how difficult it is to learn new languages. If necessary, I can speak English or French to clarify certain points. I use interactive activities so students can practise their language skills. Si nécessaire je peux parler français et anglais pendant le cours. Mes cours sont interactifs donc les étudiants peuvent mettre en œuvre leur compétences. J'adapte les leçons aux besoins de chaque étudiant.

I first got involved in teaching Japanese as a conversation tutor when I was at the university in San Francisco, USA.  Since then, I love working with people from different cultural backgrounds. This is also one of the reasons why I became a documentary photographer. I have visited over 90 countries to document different cultures and people. For the joy of teaching, I have also taught photography at workshops. Teaching requires a great deal of patience and communication artistry which also apply to become a good photographer as well.  In general, it is truly rewarding to see my students succeed in learning skills.
