Linguist, Medical Interpreter, TESOL Certified Chinese/Japanese/English Professional Teacher I hold two Masters degrees from the University of Colorado - Japanese Language and Civilization, and Linguistics. The former provided me with extensive training in translation, interpretation, and literary analysis from both historical and modern perspectives. Linguistics offered me the theoretical and practical basis for teaching a foreign language. I am especially interested in applying phonetic and phonological strategies to classroom teaching in order to prepare students for a native-like pronunciation and intuition. I am a native Chinese Mandarin speaker with Japanese heritage. With the educational training mentioned above, I am capable of teaching both languages.

I have had the opportunity to talk with people from many different countries, and each time I have taught them a little about Japanese culture and the language, I have a desire to explain my country to people from more countries. The most important thing when I learned a foreign language was to increase the opportunities to use that language. No matter how much you study, if you don't use it often, you'll spend a lot of time learning it. For the above reasons, I decided that it is important to focus on conversation-centered free-talk in my lessons, first of all, to create many opportunities for you to talk about topics you like, so that you can get used to speaking.

I am teaching English to Japanese at home and Japanese to anyone that wishes to learn here on italki. I believe this platform is a good way to learn another language. learning about your interests in another language keeps you interested and engaged in the learning material so you can have fun while studying! Japanese language and culture in a casual way ✌ Up until now, I have been teaching for more than two years now and I really enjoy it. I have premade lessons that I use for teaching, but of course, I can organize lessons to one's wishes. In my lessons, I try to use as many as possible different resources for learning and I can promise you that a class with me won't be boring. I'm trying to be professional as much as possible, but I would like to create a relaxed atmosphere so that we can learn with a smile on our faces.

Also what I consider important is to help students learn some new vocabulary during the class, as I think it can be the most difficult part when you struggle with language learning. So I suggest to learn new words and practice them immediately by using those words during the class in different forms.
