今日はふたつの「いがい」についてお話しします。
「この映画は意外に面白かった」
みなさんはこの「意外」の意味がわかりますか？
この「意外」は「想像していたことと違う」時に使います。つまり面白くないと思っていた映画が実は面白かったという意味です。

次の文はもう一つの「以外」を使った文です。
「私は仕事以外のことには興味がない」この文の意味はわかりますか？「私は仕事にだけ興味がある。他のことには興味がない。」ということです。
また、「私は日本語以外話せません」と言うと、「私は日本語だけ話せます。他の言語は話せません。」という意味です。

最後に、最近起こった意外だったエピソードをお話します。どちらの意味か考えて聞いてください。

私は先日ギリシャに旅行に行きました。ドイツの田舎にある小さな空港からのフライトだったので、小さな飛行機を使うのかなと思っていたら、意外に大きな飛行機だったのでびっくりしました。

このふたつの「いがい」はどちらもよく使うので正確に使えるようになるまで練習しましょう！

意外：surprisingly
以外：except for, apart from~
想像する：そうぞうする　imagine
つまり：to sum up
興味がある：きょうみがある　I’m interested in
ギリシャ：greece

〜によっては
意味は、〜の場合はこう、などと状況の違いの話の時に使います。英語だとit’s depends on 〜のような表現ですかね。


例文です！

・天気によっては、明日の予定を変えないといけない。

・人によって、教え方も違います。

・国によって、文化も違います。

・年齢によって、考えることが変わります。

・地域によって、いろんななまりがあります。


こんな感じです。

ぼくは結構使いますね。
とくに日本語のレッスンをしている時によく使っています。
国によっての違いの話などが多いですから。
