音読みは、きゅう
訓読みは、すーう

意味は、すう、すいこむ、というような意味があります。

熟語
・呼吸ーこきゅう　息を吸って、吐くこと

・吸引ーきゅういん　医療機器を使って、痰や唾などを吸うこと　たんーphlegm、つばーspit

・吸収ーきゅうしゅう　食べものなどから栄養が体に入ること。また、情報、知識を頭に入れること。

例文
・(救急車で)落ち着いて、ゆっくり呼吸してください。

・(歯医者にいる時)吸引しますね、失礼します。

・栄養の吸収を良くするには、良く噛むことが大切です。
