I'm not vegetarian and I don't think I'll become in the future. But I've reduced a lot the amount of meat I eat mainly for three reasons.

The first and simplest one is because eating a huge amount of meat is not healthy.

The second one is connected with the first one. Eating a lot of meat has a very huge environmental impact. In my opinion, animals are treated like objects because there is a huge demand for meat. So, to provide an adequate supply, animal farms must produce meat at a very high speed and that obviously means killing animals at frantic speed. Moreover, to increase their production, many farmers use very narrow farms for such an amount of animals. Animals consume a lot of food and water and this brings to the big environmental impact I mentioned. On the other hand if we ate only plants, that would be detrimental too, due to the large croplands that our diet would require. So I think there should be the right equilibrium between these two productions.

And the third one, last but not least, is because I like vegetables! :)

I am not a perfect vegetarian but I almost never eat non-vegan foods.

My reasons are that unfortunately I once saw meat factory and animals getting killed there. I can never forget that scene and for some reasons i dislike smell of meat very much while smell of vegetables give me a feeling of being in harmony with nature.
