“Crashing” can mean sleeping unexpectedly at someone else’s house.
‘I had too much to drink at Jim’s party and wasn’t in any condition to drive home. I crashed on his couch. ‘
’It’s too late to drive home. You can crash here.’ Or ‘You can crash on my couch’

“Crash on the couch” normally means sleep on the couch/sofa.
If a friend comes to your house and it’s real late and you told him he could stay and sleep on the sofa, you could then say “he crashed on the couch”
Or if you came home and you were really tired and slept on the couch you could say “I crashed on the couch.”

Thanks for bringing up this expression "Crash on the couch"! Once, a friend of mine stayed overnight at my place & the next day she wrote me "Thanks for letting me crashed in!". That's when I learned there's this expression using the word "crash". 🙂

It is an English expression that means to fall asleep on the couch. It is usually used when a person has worked all day, or is extremely tired.

”When my dad came home from work, he crashed on the couch”.

I could either mean to rest on the couch or spend the night on the couch.
