IELTS letter "request to change a college course"

Dear Mr. Smith,

I am writing to you in order to ask for a substitution of an alteration to the field of my studies.

I signed up for a course in networking technologies in September this year. Before I started my studies I had worked as a wireless technician in Verizon Corporation for 3 years. For now, but I decided to change route and get a degree in cable networking. So far it has been a good experience and I liked like the tutors and my classmates, but the content of some particular subjects seemed to me to be not as useful as I had expected. For example, the majority of the course disciplines subjects consists consist of wireless technologies in which I am not interested in at all.

I would like to devote myself to optical networking technologies. I made a thorough investigation on the college website and figured out that we have a course provided to us by Cisco company. I scanned through the list of subjects and i can say that they are perfectly suitable for me. I would highly  really appreciate if it could be possible to change my current course to "Optical Networks" from the beginning of December 1st.
