名不虚传的人/物一定是非常有名(famous)的, 而且一般作谓语.
例如:
"乔丹一人独得30分, 果然名不虚传."
"名副其实"的"名"不是famous. 这个成语其实有两种含义:

= If we call him/it/... , we are not exaggerating
e.g.
他是名副其实的笨蛋. = He is a real idiot.
2
= have typical features
e.g.
他是名副其实的德国人.
It might mean that like most other Germans he is punctual, careful to do things by the book, or whatever.
