Why is "too much hard" grammatically incorrect?
For example we can say: "You work too hard." but not "You work too much hard."
And same question for "quite a lot of free time" and not "quite free time"
The rules are very simple:
'too' is followed by an adjective or adverb
too difficult
too big
too old
You work too hard
He speaks too quickly
'too much' (and 'too many' ) are followed by a noun
too much work
too much money
too many people
I hope that's clear
