Hi Aleksey,
The "English Vocabulary in Use" series seems pretty decent to me. It offers a good balance between quantity and context, both textual and visual.
If you're looking for a more comprehensive course, you may want to check "Verbal Advantage" by Charles Harrington Elster (over 3000 words), but it's quite tedious and you'll have a hard time trying to memorize word after word with little if any context.
I'd also suggest choosing an area of interest and studying it more thoroughly, then moving on to the next one (e.g. Business English, English for the Military, English Phrasal verbs, etc.).
That being said, I'd go with Ruth's recommendation. Our memory works much better when we're having fun rather then forcing ourselves to study.
