you are joking! PLEASE tell me you are joking?!?! 1. if you want to show someone how good your English is...learn from English people. 2. You are not American so why would you want an American accent??? Improving your pronunciation is great, I fully support that, but copying an accent is not a good idea. Your accent shows where you are from and hold a lot of "you" inside. Why are you in such a rush to change that? I hate it when people put on "fake" accents...just sounds stupid. (bit out of line maybe but i have strong feelings about this one. I had a friend who did the same. Went to America for 1 year and came back with the WORST fake American accent EVER! Sounded so stupid, but he thought it was cool...don't do the same thing)

In fact, American accent sounds harsh & laughable, just as birds are singing noisily...... & If I were you, I would try to learn British accent, such as Oxford or London accent......

There is an Audio course called: «speak English like an American» Download and install a Peer-to-peer client like bittorrent: http://www.bittorrent.com/download?csrc=splash Then here is the link to download the .torrent file: http://www.mininova.org/tor/1185385 Open the file with bittorrent and wait until the end of the downloading. It helped me a lot, but still not enough. The best thing is to do a language trip to USA, you will learn much more . Take care,

Listen and mimic TV shows, radio or videos/films. Practice and listen to yourself. I have a very bad Thai accent in the UK, but when I am in Thailand, and hearing spoken Thai all the time I mimic the sounds very well and my friends compliment me. I am sure if you practice a lot your friends will be more impressed and will not make fun any more but I think I heard from someone that Amarican people enjoy joking about other accents and perhaps they did not realise it was a little rude for you. Good luck.
