What is close to "actually" in Spanish? If you say actualmente that is currently, so this doesn't translate well directly. I want to use an expression to carry the meaning of the word actually in English. examples of Actually as a correction. -Actually the appointment is on Friday not Wednesday. -You want me to help? No actually I know how to use these. examples of Actually as a sentence starter/transition thing( I don't know the technical name). -Actually I once had something like that happen to me. -Actually I know her too, we went to the same highs school. Really? Do realmente and en realidad come close?

(sorry if i'm wrong, and sorry because my english is not very good)... i think is like this if you want to use "actually" in spanish: examples of Actually as a correction. -Actually the appointment is on Friday not Wednesday. -DE HECHO la cita es el viernes, no el miercoles. -Actually I once had something like that happen to me. -DE HECHO a mi me sucedió algo parecido. You can use "EN REALIDAD" too, but it is better if you use the last example. Espero que esto haya sido de gran ayuda para ti! bye!!

"De hecho" es una excelente traducción.

It does sound like in fact. Thank you to all who answered.

Good question!! We use "de hecho" and "en realidad" for actually. "de hecho" sounds a bit like "in fact" AND "en realidad" sounds like "to be honest" so in your examples I would say: - En realidad la cita es el viernes, no el miércoles. - Quieres ayudarme? - No, en realidad no sé como usar eso. - De hecho a mi me sucedió algo así. - De hecho yo la conozco también.

I prefer "en realidad", because you can use it in more cases than "de hecho". But actually, "de hecho" is a good translation... Love actually -> El amor, en realidad.
