But every time I introduce myself, people always laugh about my name!!!! Yes, it's a Spanish wine I know!!!! Is it really funny as a girl's name??? Guys, plz help me!! Give me a cool name. (PS; my real name sounds like "thin+ray", if there is a name sounds like my real name, that would be just great!!! )

I don't think Sherry is a funny name at all. In fact, it was quite a popular name a few decades ago. I can't understand why people laugh when you say it. If it bothers you, though, why don't you change it to Cherry? That's also an accepted name. In fact, there is something of an overlap between girls' names beginning with 'ch' and 'sh' sounds, anyway. There are certain names such as Cheryl and Cherie (meaning 'dear one/darling' in French) , and their many variants, which can be pronounced either with a 'sh' sound as if they were French, or a 'ch' sound as in English. You could also choose one of those, of course. There's a very pretty celebrity from the north-east of England called Cheryl who has made that name popular in recent years.

Nothing wrong with Sherry at all, it's a common name. There are many names in English that come from/are words in their own right, such as April, May, June, Lily, Jade, Amber, Jasmine....etc., and these are all fine. If you like Sherry, stick with it. If not, I would suggest Chloe - my personal favourite.
