What does "a toothy grain" mean? Hello. What does "a toothy grain" mean? Does it mean "a big and sharp grain"? Here is the context (from the game Fallout 4): Razorgrain. This species appears to be quite promising. It's a toothy grain that we may be able to grind in order to replace wheat, which is untenable in the Wasteland. We are uncertain how to increase crop yields, which are very unpredictable. Will continue to study.

Not really. A "toothy" grain implies that it's something with a texture that needs some chewing (or mechanical work if it's a process) in order to break down, so it's used to describe things like oats in bread which have a texture that remains intact and doesn't "disappear" into the consistency of the bread.
