I say yeah Hurley does because this is the same as 'Hurley is smart', he can tell that dis/respect are not dis/agree. Not to mention dis/convert, thus in this case, disrespect becomes unreasonable, like saying: I just think A, whom I never met in my life and who is arguing with B now 500 km far from me about a topic I don't know, is right. When we stay out of the concept respect, such argument becomes weak and pale.
Hurley is stupid.
What is religious belief about.
Answered before on certain similar thread of yours, and no offense will say this again: religion is fear.
Religious belief is a kind of belief, that is like what I mentioned above. Speaking of religious belief, it really depends on individual, how strong one believes in, will one mind if people talk about or even make fun of his religion in front of him in his religion, ways of prayer, how does one consider of atheism and so forth.
To respect one's religion is to respect one's fear. The result of disrespecting one's religious belief can be as terrible as presenting a tiger to someone who fears tigers to death because his leg was once eaten by a tiger.
Importance
Is it important to respect... ? What purpose? What context? You are asking a man who believes in god A and in whose religion there's a custom that one must buy him a cup of Chinese tea if one wants help from him to help you get around to get you the credential that you're dying to get, is it not important to buy him this cup of tea? Whereas like the mid-eastern chaos, is it important to respect one's religion that requires him to kill you?
If you already respect others' religious beliefs as the title set, why do you still talk about the importance of doing so?
Now my question to you dear professor! Per se, what is respect? So what is the boundary between respect and disrespect??!!
Good Q.
