In High School I spent one year in the US where I discovered my love for languages. I acquired my Bachelors degree in Luxembourg and France, where I studied in German, English and French. I did my Masters degree in Germany and spent two semesters abroad in Brazil where I studied in Portuguese. I am fluent in German, English and Portuguese and I speak a bit of French and Spanish. I have travelled to more than 40 countries and I greatly enjoy meeting people from all over the world.

Ich arbeite an einer Gemeinschaftsschule als Lehrer, meine Hauptfächer sind Deutsch & Sport. Mein Ziel ist es, dass du schnellstmöglich verständliches Deutsch sprechen und lesen kannst. Als Lehrkraft bin ich diszipliniert, du musst auch wirklich lernen wollen. Ich fordere dich, aber achte auch darauf, dass du gut mitkommst und Fragen beantworte ich auch gerne mehrmals. Niemand erwartet, dass du alles auf Anhieb verstehen wirst und das musst du auch gar nicht.

Passionate German teacher with over 18 years of teaching experience Since 2006, I have been teaching German as a foreign language in Taipei, Taiwan to Chinese native speakers. Because I had had an interest in the Chinese language and culture for many years, in 2005 I moved to Taiwan to learn Mandarin Chinese. At some point during my stay I had to start looking for work and ended up teaching German at a local language center. Right from the start I loved teaching German and since then have kept on working as a language instructor with a passion, gaining experience over the years and keeping up with improving my skills and expanding my knowledge up to this day.

The reason why I started to teach on italki were my friends who told me that I was a huge help for them while we we're doing a language exchange. So I wanna help other people to improve their German. I'm a really patient and passionate teacher. My biggest aim will be that you speak German as natural as possible. I pay a lot of attention to mistakes and pronunciation. I was told that I speak German very slowly compared to other German natives and explain things in a easy way.

Let me accompany you in your German Language Journey. I am a community tutor and my lessons are targeted at beginner-to-advanced speakers. I am an open-minded person who's engaging and empathetic in conversation.  Learning a new language can be difficult. I still try to argue fluently with my Dad in Italian. Currently, I'm learning Japanese, so I totally understand how you feel when struggling to get your point across. Together we will figure it out and improve, as I have a very casual and friendly approach with my students. MISTAKES ARE PART IN THE PROCESS! Also, I use an ever growing Notion-page that I share with all my students. On personal pages, we work together to expand the materials, reaching from grammar to culture.

I love "etymology" and I love explaining grammar. ADAPTIVE My style is consultative rather than by the book. I try to gauge your level, ask you what works and listen super well to find out what we need to work on. I am not a teacher, I make you better. You decide how hard you will learn and I will step it up or slow it down. OPEN AND LISTENING FOR FEEDBACK At any time during a class, you can ask me anything. I found that my best students all ask more questions.

There are actually very few grammar rules you need to master to learn German. I will explain these in clear and simple terms to you after which we will make them second nature through practice. We will expand your vocabulary by talking about and working on things that interest you. Learning German in this way needn't be as difficult or annoying as you may imagine or have experienced in the past. It can – and should – be an enjoyable luxury that you are motivated to indulge in regularly.
