I basically simplify complex things and complicate simple things when needed. It makes my method rather adjustable to the level of the student. Not mere translation but this interaction with the imagery and contexts lead to deeper understandring and further the ability to use new words and prases. We do little grammar, though. Being a native russian and kazakh speaker which are two really different languages from different language families I have got not only knowledge, but also sense of what might be a problem spot for most of my students.
