I adore the outdoor life through travelling, hiking and cycling and keep fit playing badminton and frisbeeing. I was lucky and travelled around the world for 2 wonderful years in 1992-93. My main interests are science and nature, history, reading, the arts and music. I recently returned to England after 12 wonderful years teaching English in China and Vietnam. Teaching became my passion because I have always loved interacting and conversing with people, and because ever learner is different, tutoring always remains fun and interesting.Mostrar traducción

When I took up teaching, I grew to love it and never looked back. With 20yrs experience teaching, tutoring and training in both the UK (8yrs) and Asia (12yrs), I have acquired and developed a wide range of teaching styles and techniques with material, dependent on students' levels and requirements. Knowing and understanding their needs, level and what motivates them has never been easier and more personal than with 1 to 1 online training. I am experienced in speech, reading, listening, comprehension, pronunciation, writing, grammar, exam prep, IELTS and conversation and Business English classes.Mis clases y método de enseñanza
A relaxed teaching style, making learning a positive experience, set with a clear outcome in mind. While in Asia, I gathered a wide variety English learning material, for levels A2 to C1 lower Int' to Adv' in many topics and Business English. My preference is for pre-intermediate to advanced level students aged 11 and over. 1 to 1 teaching is my favourite teaching methodology because classes can be tailored and progressed for every individual learner, and learning develops quicker.Mi material didáctico

The teacher's pronunciation is very pure, very serious, humorous, and witty. Every class is carefully prepared, and they can explain the knowledge questions I have raised in detail. They can also guide me to express more and discuss some local customs and traditions with joy. A very enjoyable class experience, five-star recommendation!

I had the pleasure of attending English class's taught by an exceptional instructor Mr. Ian. I found yesterday's lesson incredibly useful and helpful. After the class, I feel much more confident. I really appreciate Ian's offering me new avenues of thought with tips on each question. He has encouraged me to provide more information, elaborate on my opinions, and back them up with solid evidence and reasoning—I'm truly grateful for that. He also pointed out important grammar mistakes and suggested many good words for improving my wording. I’ve learned the importance of using synonyms, and I’m planning to incorporate them more into my future conversations and writing. Thanks again!
