Meixuan (měi xuān)

Meixuan is incredible! The best teacher ever!

When I started taking classes with Mei Xuan, I only really knew basic greetings and not much else, and now I can comfortably read simple sentences without pinyin and feel confident having simple conversations in Chinese! I feel very accomplished, and having a kind, empathetic teacher like Mei Xuan has made all the difference. I’m really shy, but Mei Xuan always makes me feel confident by acknowledging where I tried to make a connection, even if my answer wasn’t exactly right. And the class is very organized, so I am learning very efficiently too 😊

Meixuan makes learning Chinese still so much fun. As the classes get more and more difficult and the amount we already learnt is growing - she puts a lot of effort on review. This helps me to remember. Thank you so much!

It's a pleasure to start off the new year by taking Mei Xuan's class, talking to her about new year resolutions (among other topics). She is truly a wonderful guide into Chinese language and culture, a knowledgeable and very nice person. I'm wishing to all of you, my virtual classmates, persistence in your studies and I'm sure Mei Xuan will help you to achieve your goals and enjoy fluent conversation in Chinese! It's really an amazing feeling when you suddenly start speaking Chinese and feel relaxed at the same time!! That's exactly what has happened to me thanks to Mei Xuan, thanks to her method and teaching style. But first of all, I wish health and inspiration to our dear teacher. May this year be filled with joy of learning for all of us.

I really like how mei xuan structures our class and how she teaches new words/concepts. She teaches things in "chunks" and explains the nuance between words (such as 'always' 'often' 'sometimes'). She also is very patient with me as I try to form sentences and gives me a lot of opportunities to speak about things relevant to my life. Looking forward to more classes with her.

Meixuan is great. She remembers what I struggle with, focuses on that, is attentive every minute of the class. Always lookig forward to my next lesson. Thank you so much!
