I am Elena, a language teacher currently living in Australia. I previously obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Sociology, and a Master's degree in Business. I have a very multicultural background, as I have lived in Italy, Brazil, France and the US (where I studied at UC Berkeley). Understanding other people and cultures is my greatest passion, as I deem it incredibly eye-opening. I always try to put myself in other people's shoes by extensively traveling, studying sociology and psychology, and by talking to people of different nationalities. I have been a French, English and Italian private teacher and tutor for people of all ages for the past five years, both in Italy, France, Brazil and California. Since I was a kid, the language learning process always fascinated me. Furthermore, my sympathy towards refugees and immigrants' cause enhanced even more my passion for language teaching, the pillar of societal integration.
Thanks to the diversity of my students, I have become easily adaptable to my students' needs and interests. Furthermore, my advanced knowledge of five languages (Italian, French, English, Portuguese and Spanish) facilitates communication with my students and maximizes their learning potential.Mis clases y método de enseñanza
I customize my lessons based on my students' needs. However, normally my methodology is the following: while making sure that my students' grammar is solid, my aim is to improve their conversational skills by simulating dialogues and daily interactions since the very first lessons. As my passions are quite extensive and can range from economics to psychology, from technology to philosophy, and so on, I look for subjects of discussion which interest both the student and I. I complement traditional material such as grammar books with songs, movies, articles and other alternative and interactive tools, depending on my students' specific interests, needs and level.Mi material didáctico

Elena has been an excellent teacher of both French and Italian (the latter of which I started learning with her as a rank beginner). She gently but persistently corrects mistakes, and provides plenty of space for engaging discussion. She has been responsive to the themes I find interesting in searching out written and video materials for our lessons.
