I have had several lessons with Xiao Yang in these months and he helped me so much improving my speaking and my overall knowledge of the Chinese language. He is kind, well-spoken and cultivates lots of interests and has always something to say or ask in order to engage in conversation. I highly suggest him as a Japanese/Chinese teacher
As someone who has studied Japanese with multiple teachers over Italki, I can confidently say that ショウヨウ Sensei stands out as one of the best. From the very first lesson, it was clear that ショウヨウ Sensei possesses a deep understanding of both the language and how to teach it effectively to students of all levels.
ショウヨウ Sensei is an exceptional Japanese teacher who makes learning the language a truly enjoyable and enriching experience. His expertise, patience, and personalized approach to teaching make him an ideal choice for anyone looking to learn Japanese. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
The teacher did not correct my spoken Japanese based on the sentence patterns I had used. Instead of looking for mistakes in my utteraces, he replaced mine with a different sentence. For example, when I tried to use the past tense form た plus ので to show the relationship between two sentences, he simply stopped me by suggesting another one that ended with ことがありました. I felt like I was wrong if I did not use the patterns that he wanted me to use. What's more, he distorted my meaning by using the present form before こと. Also, when talking about the study of Japanese, I used 習っています. Again, he assumed that I was trying to use 学んでいます、but had mistakenly used 並ぶ. It seemed to me that he was not careful enough to pay attention to what I was saying, and made conclusions too early. Besides, he was supposed to lead the lesson, but instead he kept asking me whether I had any questions in order to kill time. Finally, he left the lesson when there was one minute left. Such an unpleasant experience.
