Carolina Hernandez

I feel so fortunate to have found Carolina. She is the best! Works with me at my level towards my goals. She uses really good materials that are very helpful. I am always happy to have had a lesson with Carolina. Siempre cinco Estrellas!

I often say similar things about my lessons with Carolina, because they're consistently true. She works me hard. I feel like my brain is getting a workout. We pick difficult material and it's slow going, but I'm learning steadily. I'm learning about the legal system in Colombia and the standards of evidence, and I'm not involved in police or legal work--these are simply topics that have caught my interest in looking at other aspects of Colombian social life. Wherever you are in your studies of Spanish, Carolina can take you higher, at whatever pace you're ready for.

Outstanding. I chose Carolina because of how clearly she spoke in her video, making it easy for me to understand her. I also was impressed that she is a journalist. I could tell that she was a nice person. She was very helpful and knowledgeable in our first lesson. I'm going begin regular lessons with her immediately.

Consistent effort and superb concentration for more than 4 years so far are the hallmarks of my studies with Carolina. I don't know anyone else like her. We have read more than 50 of a series of 90 readings. We will finish them all, and I'm sure this process will improve my reading comprehension. We have done other long-term projects, and the results have been positive. We can now have deep conversations about hidden meanings in the stories and poems.

Tonight we passed reading #50 in a series of 90, doing a few each week so it's a long-term project. My reading comprehension is really picking up. I told Carolina a while ago that I want to be able to speak Spanish well, read it well, write it well, and understand what I hear. These are high goals. Perhaps they aren't specific enough, but Carolina has always had just the right resources at her fingertips, whether of one week duration or many months, and the current reading project is exemplary of her work. I recommend her to any serious Spanish student.

I have high goals in Spanish, and Carolina has helped me reach them and even go beyond them. I have also had difficulties with certain aspects of Spanish, and she has helped me work through them. She is superb in every way: consistent, patient, knowledgeable, detailed, and has valuable resources to use for particular issues. It is my good fortune to learn with her. I have recommended her to my friends, and would recommend her to anyone wanting to become skilled in this language.
