Bonjour,
My name is Nelson, I'm a native French speaker teaching in Italki for 3 years. Originally from France, I chose the island life to live in the Philippines.
I would describe myself as a positive person, easygoing and curious. I love to share my energy with my students. I firmly believe that learning French should be exciting.
I'm an entrepreneur and videographer with a Master's degree in Business. I'm passionate about travel, culture, business, and adventures!
And Politics (of course, I'm French) :D

I enjoy teaching interactively, with a focus on discussion and interactions.
For beginner and intermediate students, I'm more structured; I like to include a small part of grammar, orthographic, and vocabulary learning. It will help you progress faster.
Based on your preferences, we can also include tools like videos, images, and articles.
For every student, I create a shared document that will be used as a "roadmap" to keep track of the lessons and allow valuable continuity.

This was only my 2nd lesson with Nelson and I already know I made a right choice with doing lessons with him! He was super patient when I struggled and attentive to what I said. He's great with getting the conversation going. I'm someone who prefers to be corrected asap by my tutors, so that I can learn & say the correct phrase right after. I liked how the 2nd half was for me to practice passé composé vs imparfait which I've been struggling with. Merci beaucoup Nelson et Joyeux Noël !

Being an introductory lesson, we we're really just feeling things out. Nelson was so friendly and relaxed that our informal conversation was a joy, even when I struggled to find words, didn't find them, or just butchered statements completely. He patiently waited for me to do my best and then supportively walked me through how I would have correctly said what I was attempting to. At the end of the lesson I was already craving another and I've already requested 5 more lessons from Nelson. He seems like a skilled instructor and a great guy.
