I have 17 years teaching experience - in the classroom and online ,and 20 in Tourism/Visitor Management. I love the outdoors and travel, especially walking, nature, the coast and countryside.
I've also lived in London and overseas, and love exploring towns, cities and culture, both locally & further afield, including in Hong Kong & The Netherlands.
Meeting and teaching students worldwide and learning about your country, culture, customs and language story too is a real joy for me :-)

I'm patient, friendly and flexible and want you to feel relaxed and enjoy our lessons. I value getting to know students as individuals. I’m a highly experienced TEFL qualified online teacher and former classroom teacher.
I like to understand why you're learning English, what your approximate current level is, and how I can best support you to cover your learning priorities and achieve your goals.
I will happily offer regular and positive, but honest feedback as we go !

I like to work in ways which support your learning best through eg conversation, using materials to read/discuss to extend your vocabulary and strengthen your sentence construction, or specific activities to support your grammar. Learning (and teaching!) should be interesting and fun :-)

I have been preparing for the OET exam with Annette, focusing mainly on Speaking and Writing subtests. I'm very pleased with the progress I've made under her guidance. In just one hour, we could work on many different speaking scenarios, which greatly enhanced my confidence and fluency.
She also assisted me with writing letters, providing valuable feedback to improve my writing skills. If you're looking to do well in the OET exam I highly recommend Annette.
