Ich habe Deutsch, Englisch und Französisch in verschiedenen Ländern und Kontexten unterrichtet – privat, an der Universität und in einer Sprachschule. Ich bin froh, nun auf italki zu unterrichten. I think my purpose in this world is to teach. Languages are one of the channels to increase global knowledge and to contribute to a better world. I’ve been teaching German, French and English in different countries in different contexts, in private lessons, at University and in a language school. Now I am happily teaching online on italki.

I have learned English and Spanish from Scratch and know exactly what is important and necessary for successful results. I have been teaching for many years. I started giving classes to Neighbour´s Children at the age of 18. Since than I have mostly taught Adults who want to improve their Conversation Skills or prepare for Exams. The focus is bettering your fluency and confidence talking German as well as learning lots of new vocabulary on the way.

Cultures and languages fascinate me. I have been traveling non-stop for almost 5 years and I realize every day how important a language can be. In addition, you develop your own personality in each language. German culture is strongly linked to the language. A huge amount of words have a very logical meaning, which explains why we are so rational😄

Speaking is the best way to learn a language, so my lessons usually center around having an actual conversation in German, but I will also give you grammar instructions and help you with pronunciation as and when necessary. If you struggle with any particular grammar topic, we can of course also dedicate a whole lesson to that. Generally I'm happy to adapt myself to your needs and preferences. While we talk, I make extensive notes in a google document, I write down new vocabulary with example sentences, grammar instructions, corrections, etc. You'll have access to this document during and after the classes.

I am very patient and I will adapt the lessons to your level and wishes. During the conversation, I note down new vocabulary as well as corrections in the chat box.

My goal is to make you feel comfortable during our lessons and to help you build your confidence . I have always enjoyed teaching and sharing knowledge with the people around me, so giving language classes is something that comes quite natural to me. What differentiates me from others is most certainly my way of using short listenings to improve students´ speaking skills and grammar. My method is not in the top five. However, watching students struggling made me rethink traditional methods. Experience has proven this method to be very successful. Meine Methode ist nicht unter den ersten fünf. Doch die Tatsache, dass ich Studenten beobachtete, wie sie sich abmühten, veranlasste mich dazu, traditionelle Methoden zu überdenken.

Learning a new language is pretty cool and almost like getting a superpower. But I know from experience how scary it can sometimes be to talk in a foreign language. More often than not, people give up because they don't want to embarrass themselves by making a mistake. Which is a shame. Because mistakes are great. They show us where we can still improve. So, I'm here to tell you to never give up! It's worth to put in some effort even if it means to stumble along the way. Over time, you'll appreciate how far you've come.
