I have started teaching Italian when I was in China and I had to learn to teach to students whose mother tongue was completely different from mine, both in the grammar structure and the pronunciation. Despite these difficulties I found out I really enjoyed teaching Italian and my students surprised me with their progression!

I consider myself a language tutor. In my opinion, the best way to learn a language is to jump in and try to speak it right away, so my approach is not academic but starts from the practice of conversation. I feel like I'm more of a friendly face correcting your errors and pushing you to practice and talk. I think a lot can be done alone with books but what makes talking to a native special is that one goes beyond the (often boring) book and is able to interact and have an exchange with the person. I studied languages in school and for a year in university. I know Italian grammar well and I love grammar in general. I translated for years and got to realise how hard it can be to use the language but also how beautiful Italian is. I do not teach children or complete beginners. I don't have the expertise and don't want to ruin the experience for them!
