Swahili like a native Swahili is among the common languages spoken in Africa, especially in East Africa. I have been teaching Swahili on both a part-time and full-time basis for more than 6 years. Throughout this entire period, I have learned that every student's pace in learning differs from the other. I enjoy it when my students speak as naturally as possible so that they feel comfortable at the table.

Swahili can be a FUN language, and EASY to learn... if you pick the right teacher! :-) Speaking a new language can feel scary and uncomfortable. I find it's best to learn with someone who is warm, patient, playful and attentive to your needs. That's how I aim to be with my students! As a young girl, I used to teach my friends and younger kids in my neighborhood different subjects. That is when I developed my passion for teaching. I enjoyed watching them learn and grow and develop confidence and pride in themselves. Some Swahili teachers make things very formal, structured and heady (But that can be stressful--and boring!). I find that my students learn best in a relaxed, comfortable and connective conversations--the same way as we learned to speak as kids.
