Lately, not only has the lower price of fast food become a popular topic, but it has also led some collectives to voice criticism of the mainstream attitude. I firmly believe that it should be a crucial target for the government to impose higher taxes on fast food due to its damaging effect on our health. Firstly, it has been proved by an endless number of scientists that junk food has bad effects on our bodies like an increase in cholesterol or unhealthy weight gain or even that it could lower our mood. I strongly believe it but many people do not care about this. Governments should take care of this type of issue and promote campaigns that offer information. But it would probably not result in effective change, so they ought to increase the prices of junk food, and then people may reconsider the function of this measure. On the whole, it is clear to me that governments must impose higher taxes on fast food to raise people's awareness of its harmful effects. Furthermore, the whole of society ought to struggle to understand the reason for this fact and rationalize consumption.
