Could you please correct my mistakes? Should developed nations encourage immigration from other countries?  I think developed nations should encourage immigration from other countries. There are three reasons. First of all, developed nations tend to have a problem with low birth rate. According to the recent studies, the better the economy gets the lower the birth rate will be. What happens if that continue is that the ratio of elderly people and young people will be unbalanced. There will be more elderly people compared to young people. And elderly people mostly don’t work and live with their pension. Therefore, young people need to support the heaviest economical responsibilities. The only way to solve this is accept people from other countries.  Second, it creates new demand and business. For example, there are not much vegan restaurants or food available here in Japan, this is primarily because there are few vegan people in Japan. However in the U.S I heard that there are many vegan food menus available. What people want is quite different depending on their cultural background, thus it creates new demand and provides better living environment for those who are not used to the culture of where they live.  Lastly, it makes easier to learn a language. In recent years, due to globalization, there is a increasing demand of being able to speak majority language. For example, English and Chinese is getting more and more popular in business situations, one study shows that the gap of earnings between monolingual and bilingual is getting bigger these days. Those languages are used primarily in the situations where many people have different mother tongues. Therefore, multicultural environment provides people to speak in a majority language and it leads to improve people’s language ability.  Above the all reasons, I believe it is beneficial for developed nations to encourage immigration from other countries.
