Is ‘To be going to’ formal or informal? I’ve seen this phrase in every English grammar books, student’s books, and English teachers and tutors teach this phrase. But on YouTube channel English with Rebecca, Rebecca says Will is formal and ‘to be going to’ is not formal. Is this true or false?

Yes, she's correct. In a formal paper, such as an academic book or article, you would not use "going to." However, it's perfectly fine to use it in most situations.

Sorry, I probably made it sound a lot more complicated than it needs to be!
