Using your Kindle to learn Italian ( or another language)

I found an easy way to use my Kindle to read Italian. I purchased an intermediate B1 level book. Downloaded the free Italian dictionary.( I also bought one). I then started to read the book. As I expected, I highlighted words I didn't know and the Italian dictionary gave me the meaning. But what surprised me is if I highligted sentences, then from the window options , selected " more" which then gave me an option for "translation". It translated the sentence. This really accelerated my learning. The translations were correct 75% of the time or if wrong helped with phrases I didn't understand.

To make this work. English was my kindle language then in the settings I set up one of the Italian dictionaries as my dictionary when reading an italian book. Directions on this are on line on how to set up foreign language dictionaries on your kindle. However , I  had one problem not mentioned on line. I had to reset my kindle, clearing the books off my kindle. but leaving them on the cloud. Then reload the Italian books and dictionaries along with my other books. Otherwise the kindle would not recognize my Itatalian dictionaries as "dictionaries" it thought they were books. After the reset and redownload it recognized and linked them as dictionaries.
