It's a kiss.

It's the equivalent of saying 'love from..'. It's just a friendly and affectionate way to finish a correspondence. Women and girls, especially, use it all the time for informal letters, notes and messages to friends and family members.

- Writing an X is often used in text messages to represent a ''kiss''. So, for example:
"Have a nice day and see you tomorrow !! Xx " I believe that mostly girls write this. Guys don't do it so much.

- Sometimes it's also placed on traffic signs and say: "Xing" The X is a cross. So then you get ''Crossing''. = A road crossing

X's are kisses and O's are hugs. Thus, "XXX," "XXX OOO," "XOXOXO." These "emoticons" date at least from the 1950s.

Do people still write "SWAK" on the back of an envelope (for "sealed with a kiss,") or put the postage stamp upside down to mean love?
