The legend of "Dedicated to Wang Lun(赠汪伦)" The poem, "Dedicated to Wang Lun", was written by the China's greatest poet Li Bo(李白), who lived during Tang Dynasty. Wang Lun, who extremely adored Li Bo, was a common Chinese. We love this poem very much and often quote it. There was a famous legend about the origin of this poem. As he love Li Bo's poems deeply, Wang Lun had a dream for a long time that one day he would have a chance to meet Li Bo in person. However, Li Bo did not know him at all. This often made him felt upset. When he heard that Li Bo favored drinking and peach blossom, he thought out an idea. He wrote a letter to Li Bo to tell him that there were ten thousands of winehouses and a peach garden stretching one hundred miles long in his hometown. These were of course fictional. Besides, he sincerely invited Li Bo to visit at his village. From that moment when the letter was sent out, he had been waiting anxiously for the results. To his surprise, Li Bo happily accepted Wang Lun's invitation and arrived at the village soon. However, those wonderful scenes depicted in the letter did not exist. Wang Lun explained that there was a winehouse named "万家酒店"(In Chinese, its literal meaning is "ten thousands of winehouses" ) and a peach garden named "百里桃园"(Its literal meaning is "a peach garden stretching one hundred miles long") here. Even so, Li Bo did not mind. He came to here just due to Wang Lun's sincerely invitation. Li Bo spent an pleasant journey, for he was given a warm reception from Wang Lun. They drank together everyday during the journey. At the time of his parting, Li Bo presented Wang Lun with a poem,it said: 赠汪伦 Dedicated to Wang Lun 李白乘舟将欲行 Li Bo was about to leave by boat, 忽闻岸上踏歌声 Suddenly, I heard the song and footsteps from ashore 桃花潭水深千尺 Peach Blossom Pool is a thousand feet deep 不及汪伦送我情 Yet not so deep, Wang Lun, as your love for me

As he love Being a great admirer of Li Bo's literary genius,  poems deeply, Wang Lun had a dream for a long time often longed that one day he would have a chance to meet Li Bo in person. However, Li Bo did not know him at all. This often made him felt upset. feel crestfallen.  When he heard that Li Bo favored loves to drinking and admire peach blossoms, he thought out of an idea. However, those wonderful scenes depicted in the letter were just a fabrication and did not exist at all. It was only a ruse to invite the poet.  However, Wang Lun explained that there was indeed a "Ten Thousand Wine Shops"a winehouse named (万家酒店) even though it was the name of only one shop.In Chinese, its literal meaning is "ten thousands of winehouses" ) and As for the hundred miled peached garden, there was an orchard named, "Hundred Mile Peach Orchard".a peach garden named "百里桃园"(Its literal meaning is "a peach garden stretching one hundred miles long") here. 赠汪伦 Dedicated to Wang Lun

李白乘舟将欲行 Li Bo was is about to leave by boat,
忽闻岸上踏歌声 Hark! joyous footsteps he dost hear, Suddenly, I heard the songs and footsteps from ashore
桃花潭水深千尺 The waters of Peach Blossom Pool is but a thousand feet deep
不及汪伦送我情 Yet not so deep, Wang Lun, as your love for me Deeper not than Wan Lun's feelings bidding me farewell.

Your translation of the poem is very good.  You should not despair from my correction.  To translate poetically is something not even most natiive speakers is able to accomplish without training.  The 2nd line is written in archaic English to convey the period this event took  place.  You are struggling with daily English, let alone archaic usage in proper settings.  This understandable.  Like Chinese, you need to learn the higher forms before able to express yourself.  There is no royal road to learning.
