My English Homework:A Letter of Application
(Read this advert for a job.You would like to apply for it and have written some notes about your experience.Use the handwritten notes to write a letter of application.)
Dear sir or Madam,
I saw your advert in yesterday's newspaper that in which you are seeking someone for the post of Personal Assistant to the overseas sales manager in yesterday's newspaper and I would like to apply for the position.
As you can see from my attached CV, I have been working for my current company for 2 years as a receptionist and secretary. Thus, I have grasped 1* most of the prime secretarial duties. However, I have been considering a career change with a new challenge for a couples of months and this seems like the perfect moment to make that move.
I see from the advert that your coorporation requires a good knowledge of English and therefore I would like to draw your attention to my degree in English completed at college. What's more, I have lived in Rome in the summer of 2006. There is no doubt that I can speak fluent Italian. Combined with my experience in working for a travel agency for the last six months which helps has helped me to gain a competitive advantage over rivals, I feel that I would be an asset to your company.
Please also note that my current manager has agreed to write a reference and can be contacted on 021-******.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully

1* the idea is good but it doesn't quite work. Maybe 'grasped the idea of main secretarial...' .
Maybe better than 'grasped' - 'learned' 'become familiar with' 'become proficient in'
Lots of well used authentic expressions.
