Parents are the best teachers. agree or disagree (an ielts essay. plz help me to know my mistakes) Parents are the first ones who a child faces with but if they are the best teachers for their children in their lives? In this essay I will describe about the subject. Some people argue that this is parents who teach their children. They are the best for this purpose. Everything from starting to speak to controlling a life teaches by parents. They can transfer costum and traditions to their children. Every culture is alive by teaching children at home. Also they believe that the best school for their children is home. Although this is true that parents teach their children in the best way they believe that is true, they are not always the best teachers. There are many things in this world which a child has to learn from school, friends, nature and environment. A teacher in a school can be better than a mother in teaching them lessons and school environment can help a child to be a competitive person. Also, a child in the society can learn different kinds of attitudes and views but at home one just can evaluate parents ideas and views which maybe is not effective and the best! Maybe the society can be a better teacher for being more sociable. Nature also is an amazing teacher. Helping individuals to think of why and how the planet is made. There is a saying that “the best teacher is the nature”. All in all, although parents teach their children many different things, there are many other resources which can be better than parents. Teachers at schools, friends, nature, societies are also good teacher. So I do not agree parents are the best teachers.

"Parents are the best teachers" - agree or disagree. (An IELTS essay. Please help me to know what my mistakes are.)

Yes, I'm being fussy. ;) Still, it may give you some guidelines for punctuation and format.

The parents are usually the first people who a child faces with encounters but if are they the best teachers for their children in their lives? In this essay I will discuss about the issue.

Be careful of confusing certain phrases. Face and describe are transitive verbs, so you never add a preposition after them. You can talk about something, or you can describe something. Be faced with only exists as passive voice.

Some people argue that it is the parents who truly teach their children - that they are the best for this purpose. Everything from starting to speak to managing one's day-to-day existence is taught by parents. They can hand down customs and traditions to their children. Every culture is kept alive through teaching children at home. Some people also believe that the best school for their children is home.

Although it may be true that parents teach their own children in the best way they believe that is appropriate, they are not always the best teachers per se. There are many things in this world which a child needs to learn from school, friends, nature and the environment. A teacher in a school can be better than a mother in teaching the child lessons, plus the school environment can help a child to be a competitive person.

Also, a child in the within a society can learn different kinds of attitudes and views whereas at home he or she can only take on the parents' ideas and views, which is maybe not effective or the best! Maybe the society can be a better teacher in regards to being more sociable.

Nature also is an amazing teacher, helping individuals to think of why and how the planet was made. There is a saying that, “the best teacher is the nature”.

All in all, although parents may teach their children many different things, there are many other resources which can be better than parents. The teachers at schools, friends, nature and society are also good teachers. Therfore I do not agree that parents are the best teachers.

Good work. As well as correcting the errors, I've offered some alternative phrases and more appropriate words. I've also added some words to shape the text and give it flow. Feel free to ask about any corrections I've made.

Don't mention it. Just like you mistyped 'choosed' (irregular verb), i mistyped 'thought' (I should have typed 'taught').

Some ideas for the first paragraph (You've posted this text in the Persian section, why?): Parents are the first ones with whom a child faces, but what if parents are considered the best teachers of their children in their lives? (In very formal English, the preposition comes at the beginning of the adjective clause as in ‘with whom a child faces’. Only ‘whom’ or ‘which’ may be used in this form. Usually a comma immediately precedes the conjunction such as ‘but’. Omitting the comma in front of ‘but’ is rare). In this essay, I’m going to explain this subject (or discuss about this subject) (Note that ‘be going to’ is used to express a prior plan, just like the subject you want to explain. Therefore, it is better than ‘will’ in this context). It could be argued that parents are the real teachers for their children. (Using a passive voice to start discussing ideas is possibly better than to say ‘some people’). Those who suppose this theory believe that parents are (by far) the best (or the most ideal) for this purpose. They think that (almost) everything, from starting to talk/speak to managing a life, is thought be parents (Don’t mistake ‘teach’ with ‘thought’, active vs. passive). They can transfer customs (not custom) and traditions to their children. What’s more, they believe that the most appropriate school for their children is home (just playing with words, otherwise ‘best’ is OK) (In written English, don’t start a sentence with ‘also’, and if you did, put a comma after that).
