Whence Vs Where ''Go back whence you came!'' Yes, it seems sound better if we compare with using ''where'' but why? Can we use ''Where'' also in this sentence?

Go back whence you came = Go back where you came from. whence = from where whither = to where

Whence is an old word that is no longer used in every day English either written or spoken. Go back whence you came = Go back to where you come from. Or perhaps just - "Go away!"
