What does 'water does seek its own level' mean? A loyal friend attracts another loyal friend. In essence, water does seek its own level. I suppose that 'water does seek its own level' means water flows to the reach where water is smooth. Could you please explain what 'its own level' means? Thank you.

Water seeks its own level = Water moves to the level of surrounding water. similar: Birds of a feather flock together.
