Using the word " Dudette" I like using the word "Dudette" as I've read this is the female name for "Dude" but some people have told me that this word is rarely used nowdays. So I'd like to know if some of you still use it or Is this mainly use only in some places ? Thank you in advance...

Dudette is a bit dated, but people who grew up in the 90s probably still use it now and again. I imagine mostly as a joke, rather than a form of address. English is a living language, and words come and go. Perhaps in 30 years nobody will remember that we used dudette, or it could become the word of the day for a younger generation.

Honestly, it's quite cheesy and lame (well, in my part of the world and in my opinion). It's like something you'd hear on a television commercial. It does sound quite strange in everyday conversation and I would never use it! Perhaps just stick to "dude" (generally used to address males)

I say, if you like it, adopt the word to your vocabulary. Of course it may not be used in daily speech, but the skate community has TONS of its own slang! For example, they may refer to girls they skate with as 'chicks'. Or say 'sick flip, man!' 'I'm so 'stoked' (excited) about my new skate deck' It's all about context and where you use some of these words. Have fun with the language you're learning, and throw some silly words in there from time to time. :) http://punkskateboarders.tripod.com/id73.htm

I hear it a lot in skateboarding videos, They call "dudette" their skate female girls mostly of the time. But thank you I won't use it again or maybe just with very close people. ;)
