slam-packed Below is the sentence I heard in Undercover Boss show. The scenario is that two girls suddenly quit the job, and the manager said to the intern, which is actually the undercover boss, "If we would have been slam-packed right now, they totally would have screwed up my night." This is a restaurant business. The "they" in the sentence refers to the two quit girls. Thank you.

It means 'very busy' in this context. If the restaurant had been very busy then it would have ruined the manager's night because they would have been short-staffed (as a result of the two girls quitting) and unable to deal with all the customers.

Thanks. It helps a lot.

'Jam-packed' = completely full. 'Slammed' = people just keep coming. With 'slam-packed', the manager is combining the two words.
