benoetigen vs brachen, benuetzen vs verwenden some words in deutsch meant the same as i learn in Duolingo, but that app can't explain why it's distinguished. what's the difference between "benoetigen" and "brachen", auf englisch beide bedeuten "need" and "benuetzen" and "verwenden", beide sind "use" auf englisch thanks in advance.

"brauchen" und "benötigen" are definitely synonyms. However, in spoken German you'd only ever use "brauchen". "benötigen" is sometimes used in written German. "benutzen/benützen" and "verwenden" are used synonymously in spoken German (if there is a difference in meaning, I'm not aware of it)

I checked the Czech translations and to my understanding "benützen" is more closer to english "use", while "verwerden" is translated as "spend" or "expend".
