According to them, is it grammatically correct? Hi I was once told I shouldn't use 'according to + pronouns.hiwever I've come across some sentences on the net that contain the combination. Could it be correct? Thank you

I think it depends on the type of pronoun.Object pronouns (him , her ) sound fine when used with 'according to'. Subject Pronouns "he, she" are incorrect.

I have never heard of any grammar rule that says you can't use "according to" with a pronoun. I am not a teacher though. Anyhow, "according to me/you/him/her/us/you (guys or folks)/them" are all natural sounding in American English. As Michael pointed out though, they do add a bit of arrogance to the sentence.

The issue is with "according to me". It's correct but sounds arrogant.
